At this meeting of our baking and canning project, we made and canned grape jelly then baked an apple crisp with a club member’s grandmother. We had a wonderful time learning about the process of baking and learning how to make jelly!
Our club will have a booth at the Fairfax City Fall Festival, where we will be selling baked goods to raise money for the local Lamb Center, which provides services to the homeless and underprivileged in our area. If you’ve been wanting to find out more about our club, now is the perfect time to see us in action! The festival will be October 13th from 10:00AM to 5:00PM.

Brr! This garden workday was a chilly one! Over the winter, the fencing that surrounds our garden fell down due to heavy winds. Before we can start our spring garden, we need to replace it! We spent a chilly morning putting up new fencing and maintaining our garden space. Soon, it’ll be time to plant spring vegetables!
